Painted Buttercream Beauty

As I was looking over my orders from the past year, I realized I had forgotten to post this set up!

Valentina had her Holy Communion and I was asked to make a painted buttercream cake. This was my first try and I think it came out pretty well. Of course no cake is complete without a glittery gold topper!

Sugar cookies adorned with pink cake lace and golden Vs were placed at each guest place setting.

For a special treat I made donut kebabs. Three mini donuts dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with edible pearls. These were a hit with the kids (big and small).

Go Go Power Rangers!

Dehvan turned 5 and loves Power Rangers Dino Charge. This year I couldn’t make his cake so my client asked for cookies on sticks so that she could put them in the cake herself as decor.

It was a lot harder than I thought to make sugar cookies on sticks that didn’t fall off! But I did it! All the cookies were decorated with royal icing.

Dehvan also wanted a glittery cake topper like his sister had for her birthday so I made something to match that was more “boyish”.

40 & Fabulous

When one of my previous customers came to me and asked me to make all the goodies for her 40th birthday because she loved my work, I couldn’t say no.  I knew that whatever she wanted was going to be pretty and elegant.  She didn’t disappoint.  

Her vision started with a beautiful fondant pleated two tier, gluten free cake.  The vanilla cake featured strawberry buttercream inside.  The outside was adorned with white pleated fondant and several gumpaste flowers in pinks and whites.  The cake was topped with a pink glitter paper topper that read “40 & Fabulous.”

To continue the gluten free theme, I made some home made gluten free rice krispie treats.  I dipped the treats in white chocolate and drizzled light pink chocolate on top and sprinkled pink sugar pearls on top while the chocolate was still wet.  How cute are these?  They were perfect for the kids at the party.

 

Each guest plate feature an owl sugar cookie (also gluten free) that was wrapped in cellophane, tied with a light pink ribbon with a custom designed tag that read, “So Sweet of You To Come.”

 

If all this wasn’t enough, we added some beautiful white chocolate covered oreos, drizzled with white chocolate and topped with a fondant rose and pink sugar pearls.  

 

Finally, as a surprise, my client wanted a BBQ shaped cake for her dad, who was turning 60 that same day!  How adorable is this cake?  The cake was a chocolate cake with cookie butter buttercream.  Could it get any tastier??  Fondant food was included.  What a great idea!

 

I loved this order so much!  I loved how everything looked together.  The colors all meshed perfectly. Everything was simple, pretty and elegant.  

The client added a few other treats from others and I set up the dessert table for her.  I love doing that!  It is so satisfying to see the finished product all together.

Kate Spade With A Twist

The best part of making custom cakes and goodies is being able to take a theme and tweak it to what the client wants.  Sofia wanted a Kate Spade themed sweet 16 BUT she didn’t want the usual black/white/gold colour scheme, she wanted ROSE GOLD!  

We made Sofia a two tier rose gold/pink/white cake with gorgeous sugar flowers dusted to match the cake perfectly.  We topped the cake with a “16” glitter rose gold topper.

 

We also made matching sugar cookies that were used as favors.  We wrapped them in a nice cellophane bag with a customized tag.

But that’s not all!!  Sofia had a second party where we made matching cupcakes.

What a fun theme!!!
